We invite you to come and join us on April 13th for the Marketplace Ambassadors Luncheon. We are honored to have former NFL player Renaldo Wynn as our keynote speaker.

He has spent most of his life making an impact on the football field. When he retired from the NFL following the 2009 season, opposing quarterbacks likely rejoiced that the powerful defensive end would have to find another venue to continue to make an impact.

Wynn found that opportunity in 2012 when he joined his former Coach of the Washington Redskins Joe Gibbs at his NASCAR headquarters just outside of Charlotte, North Carolina. While Wynn assists the marketing department at Joe Gibbs Racing his primary responsibility is serving Coach Gibbs’ ministry. When Gibbs retired from football in 2008 he embarked on a new book project to share what he believes to be the most important message that can help others: God left us His game plan for our lives with the Bible. Game Plan for Life was a NY Times Bestseller and is also the name of Coach’s ministry.

Now Wynn’s impact is felt in a much different and more meaningful way as he assists Coach Gibbs in delivering that message through large outreach breakfast events and original content online at

Wynn was a first round draft choice (21st overall) by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 1997 after a stellar collegiate career at the University of Notre Dame. He would play in all 16 games as a rookie and was named to several all-Rookie teams for his performance. Wynn would play his first five NFL seasons with the Jaguars before coming to Washington prior to the start of the 2002 season. He would play five seasons for the Redskins including three under Coach Gibbs, who had shocked the sporting world in 2004 by announcing a return to the football field.

Wynn would move to New Orleans in 2007 and then New York in 2008 to play for the Giants where he was reunited with Coach Tom Coughlin, who drafted him out of Notre Dame when he was head coach of the Jaguars. Wynn would return to Washington for one final season in 2009 before retiring from the game.

Football had been a constant in Wynn’s life since his childhood in Chicago. He attended De La Salle Institute in Chicago were he gained numerous honors. The team captain recorded 50 tackles and three interceptions and five fumble recoveries as an outside linebacker, while rushing for over 500 yards and nine touchdowns as the team’s fullback his senior season. A tremendous athlete he also lettered in basketball and track. He would move on to play collegiately at Notre Dame and would earn Most Valuable Player and Lineman of the Year honors following his senior season.

Wynn was a proven leader at each stop of his career and it was one of the many great qualities he possessed that Coach Gibbs always appreciated. A fan of racing, Wynn remained in contact with Coach and in 2012 Gibbs invited him to join the Game Plan for Life team for a far greater leadership position than he had ever held. To help Coach share the message and lead men to find guidance in their lives through God’s Word.

Wynn and his wife LaTanya founded Family of Faith and The Renaldo Wynn Foundation in 2004 and were instrumental in starting the “Adopt a Child for the Holidays” program which partnered with corporations in the Washington, DC area to give Target gift cards to needy children during the Christmas season. The two now live in the Charlotte area with their daughter.
